As we head into the new climbing season, we will probably see some new access issues arising and climbers will start thinking more about resuming work on some ongoing matters around the State. Work projects are needed at Index, Darrington, Little Si, and Tieton. We'll want to support other groups with planned projects at Beacon Rock and Newhlaem, among other places, and we continue to encourage climbers to contact the east side forest planners in connection with their effort to re-write the management plan for Wenatchee, Colville, and Okanogan National Forests. New issues seem to emerge every Spring and new guidebooks are coming out for climbs in areas for which there was previously less readily available information.
As it warms up a little and maybe we can even get outside for some sun-warmed rock climbing, we hope to resume the outreach and educational efforts. We could use some help with a pamphlet and a 2006 newsletter.
