Justin Taraska just forwarded me an article from the Monroe newspaper. I don't know how to attach it here, but I will figure it out. Porter? Any suggestions?
For those who can't open it, it basically says that the Snohomish County Executive signed off on an ordinance to turn the Goldbar area into an official ORV park, and it may get funding for improvements from DNR. There is apparently a lot of local support for this because of the positive economic impact on the area and the fact that ORVers remove a lot of trash from the area (huh?)?
Who knows, this may be a boon to climbing, if it gets funding for a road improvement up to the bouldering area and/or Zeke's Wall. But We need to start paying attention to developments here and get in on the ground floor to ensure climbing is a respected use of the area.
