The trail skirting the west side of the Upper Wall has fallen into disrepair. State Parks was asked if it would be ok to do a little maintenance work and re-route a section of the trail. Their reply was: “That sounds great. Go ahead.”
A revamped trail would:
Make walk-off descents easier
Increase safety
Improve access to the west portion of the Upper Wall
For the most part I was thinking a following the existing trail; however, in some sections I think the trail should be moved a bit more downhill to avoid some slimy drop offs. Other ideas and suggestions welcome.
It would only take a few rainy days of work to really improve the trail!
Watch this space or send me a pm if you are interested in joining in the fun this winter.
