Apparently, the road has become unpassable with the recent floods. I would like to organize a work party to see if we could get it into soem kind of shape, at least to drive up to the second switchback.
Anyone have any interest in such a thing? I'll supply beers if we can get a crew of people, some trucks and tools.
What a bummer.

my brother and i are thinking of going to gold bar this weekend, we are going to bring a couple shovels, a pick axe, and a winch; hopefully we can get through. Do you know where the road is washed out at?

I can be available the weekend of the 1st. If we give people a week or more notice, we ought to be able to get a good group together.
Evan, if you can try and take some pictures and let us know if it's something a few people can get done or if maybe it might require some other means (heavy equip), that would be great.

Is the weather going to be nice this saturday? If so, I say we do it.

NOAA is saying Rain Likely right now, but the only thing that is likely is for that forecast to change.

The road is just more worn than it was. There are no areas that are washed out and can't be crossed, but there are more rocks exposed and it has gotten more bumpy. Most vehicles with some clearance will easily get past the second switch back at least to the creek, but past that it gets a bit worse. Besides fixing a couple trouble spots there is not much for a work crew to do.
