Someone added, or started to add, a new two bolt anchor station to the base of Even Steven (midpoint belay on Toxic Shock) at the Inner Wall. Two holes were drilled and one bolt was placed.
It is unclear why someone would do this, as the horn is a perfectly good anchor and is very resistant to upward force if slung properly. This belay was very functional in its natural state, unfortunately it is now scarred.
The person who did this probably thought they were improving the area. They have only done unnecessary damage. If you know this person encourage them to apply their energy to a more sensible project.
