The top of the Upper Wall is a very popular location for off road vehicle types to play. While the majority of these ORV types is not even noticed by climbers, a small minority enjoys throwing objects off the top of the wall. This obviously creates a hazard for anyone below. My guess is most people throwing objects simply have no idea that there are climbers down below. A few weeks ago the WCC raised this issue with Shawn Tobin who is the head ranger at Wallace Falls State Park* Signs have now been placed near the top indicating that the land is within a state park. More signs are in the works stating that there are climbers down below and asking that objects not be thrown from the cliff top. These signs should be in place within a month.
Additionally, ORV organizations have been asked to inform their members of the danger of throwing things off.
